Cranbrook Camps 2026

Welcome to Camp Odyssey in Cranbrook!

At Camp Odyssey, we believe in nurturing connections with nature at an early age. The program offers a safe, structured, and fun outdoor environment for children of various ages.

In Cranbrook, we are partnering with College of the Rockies (COTR) for another season! Camp days will be spent primarily in the Cranbrook Community Forest, with possible field trips to Idlewild Park and the Public Produce Garden. This group can expect to walk no more than 4 Km per day, with plenty of stops for exploring, activities, and craft time. Indoor washroom facilities may not be available every day; campers will learn how to ethically relieve themselves in nature.

Age Groups

Nearby Naturalists is our younger group, designed for kids 5-8 years old who don’t want to hike quite as far. We walk approx. 1-3km per day, visiting four different locations each week while leaving plenty of time for exploring, games and crafting.

Happy Hikers is heading back to its roots as the original Camp Odyssey group. The 8-11-year-olds will walk further and explore deeper across five different natural areas around Kimberley. Happy Hikers can be expected to hike 3-5km per day with stops for group games, instructor-led activities and exploring.

Avid Adventurers is our newest Camp Odyssey group, designed for responsible and keen pre-teens interested in day hikes and bushcraft projects. This group is for 10-13 year olds who have enjoyed their time in Happy Hikers and are ready for something more involved and challenging.

Please contact kim@wildsight.ca to ask questions about camp or discuss group suitability.

Summer Camps

At Summer Camp, kids spend their days hiking, exploring, learning, and playing outdoors. We offer the program to all three age groups: Nearby Naturalists (ages 5-8), Happy Hikers (ages 8-11), and Avid Adventurers (ages 10-13).

Cranbrook camps will take place at the COTR as part of their STEAM (Science – Technology – Engineering – Art – Math) Camps, led by Wildsight Educators following the successful Camp Odyssey style.
