Wild & Scenic Film Festival

The Wild & Scenic Film Festival is Wildsight Invermere’s annual, awesome fundraiser. It’s one BIG night of films, story telling, shared food, drink, and friends (that’s you!).

Why the Wild & Scenic Film Festival? We first organized the festival in 2014 as a way to bring together our mountain community and celebrate environmental stewardship and our connection to nature. Eleven years later, we’re still highlighting world-class films and providing a venue for inspiration, conversation, and the Columbia Valley’s passion for this place we call home.

The Wild & Scenic FIlm Festival was started in California in 2003 by the South Yuba River Citizens League (SYRCL), a watershed advocacy group based in the Sierra foothills. Once the curtain closes on the 5-day, flagship festival in Nevada City every February, SYRCL shares its success with other community groups like ours. The festival’s namesake is in celebration of achieving Wild & Scenic status on 63km of the South Yuba River in 1999. Each year, we at Wildsight Invermere specially select a program from more than 100 films on offer and make it our unique fundraiser.
