Each year the Columbia Basin Environmental Education Network (CBEEN) awards educators who demonstrate excellence in environmental education in the Columbia Basin. This year, Wildsight Educator Melissa Flint won the Environmental Education Award of Excellence for her work as a Community Educator. She was recognized for her support to students through delivering a variety of environmental programs that help develop a deeper understanding of the connections between humans and the earth.
Melissa has been a part of the Wildsight Education team for the past four years. She currently delivers six unique Wildsight education programs: Winter Wonder, Classroom with Outdoors, Beyond Recycling, EcoStewards and Know Your Watershed—providing a rich and impactful environmental education experience to youth throughout the Columbia Basin. She also delivers Wild Voices for Kids programs and volunteers her time to support grassroots environmental organizations and projects.
We want to give a huge shout out to Melissa for her continued dedication to providing engaging and meaningful learning opportunities to youth across the Columbia Basin. Way to go Melissa! We’re proud to have you on the Wildsight team!
