We're hiring: Wildsight Revelstoke Outreach and Education Coordinator

Wildsight Revelstoke is seeking an Outreach and Education Coordinator for an 8-10 week role starting in May 2025. The coordinator will be responsible for organizing and running Wildsight Revelstoke’s environmental education program, including the Wild-In-Sight summer camp program for youth. They will also host informational booths at key events on local ecosystems and species, assist with outreach activities including a community presentation evening and guided hike, and coordinate volunteer opportunities.

 

Position Type: Full-time (35hr/week) for 8-10 weeks (funding dependent)

Location: Revelstoke, BC

Hourly Rate: $26/hr

Start Date: Mid-May 2025

Due to funding restrictions, we are only able to consider applications under 30 years old.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the 2-week environmental education Wild-In-Sight summer camp program for youth aged 8-10 in the Revelstoke area (this includes designing the curriculum, leading activities with the youth, coordinating with local businesses and volunteers, advertising, budgeting, and reporting)
  • Carry out environmental education programming for youth in schools and other summer camps
  • Organize and host informational booths on local ecosystems, including the Inland Temperate Rainforest, at outreach events
  • Organize and lead a guided walk to share local environmental knowledge
  • Assist with planning and delivery of a community event
  • Design and circulate environmental comms materials – social media, website posts, newsletters
  • Assist with volunteer coordination for fieldwork activities
  • Assist with monitoring activities for local species at risk
  • Other related duties as assigned by the Branch Manager

 

Skills & Abilities:

  • Background in environmental science or a related subject
  • Experience working with children
  • Outdoor education experience
  • Strong verbal communication and administrative skills
  • Knowledge of the Revelstoke area
  • Standard first aid or equivalent, with proof of current certification
