Wildsight is a registered charity with a mission to protect biodiversity and encourage sustainable communities in the Kootenay-Columbia region of BC. With more than 35 years of history, we are recognized as a leader in large-scale conservation, sustainable community initiatives and environmental education. About the Position
Reporting to the Operations Director, the Finance and Administration Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the organization, working in bookkeeping, payroll, grant management and more.
Bookkeeping: Entering transactions into Quickbooks Online; Entering donations into customer management software; Preparing accounts payable; Completing bank deposits; Completing monthly reconciliations; Collecting back-up information for annual audit
Payroll: Complete bi-weekly payroll for non-salary employees; Complete payroll tasks associated with employee onboarding and offboarding; Prepare monthly payroll remittances
Grant management: File grant documents; Keep grant tracking information updated
Other administrative and financial tasks: Prepare contracts and agreements; Respond to email and phone inquiries; Support with event coordination; Support donor relations through thank you cards, updating credit cards, etc; Complete data entry tasks; Keep administrative process documents updated; Help develop and implement new administrative processes; Support Operations Director and Executive Director with one-time tasks, as needed.
About You
- You’re organized, you like to be one step ahead and you love checking things off of a to-do list
- You bring two-plus years of experience in bookkeeping, payroll and/or administration (bonus if you have experience with Quickbooks Online)
- You love numbers and have experience in spreadsheet programs; experience with a CRM would be an asset
- You work well on a team, as well as on your own
- You are committed to Wildsight’s mission
Remuneration and Working Conditions
You will:
- Work 15 hours/week
- Be based in Kimberley, BC. You will have dedicated office space – weekly office-based work is required, with the option to work some hours from home.
- Have a flexible work schedule, but you must have availability on Tuesdays and Thursdays for payroll processing and team meetings.
- Be compensated $1,500 – $1,700/month (depending on experience)
- Take 5 weeks of vacation per year (equivalent to 10 full work days)
- Be eligible for Wildsight’s health spending account and phone stipend
