Love them (or not) but toads & turtles are listed as ‘Species at Risk’ and need help to survive & thrive in Revelstoke.
Hop (or stroll) on over to learn from Marcy Mahr, Senior Biologist with the Valhalla Wilderness Society and Jenna Schulhof, Wildsight’s Columbia Valley Conservation Coordinator with significant knowledge & firsthand (or ‘two hand’) experience. They will share the importance of toads and turtles provide to Revelstoke’s ecosystem health and what each of us can do individually and as a community to promote survival.
Marcy will share actions implemented at her study area at Fish-Bear Lakes between Kalso and New Denver as well as some lessons learned at Summit Lake south of Nakusp to increase toad survival through a combination of science and community-based efforts. They look forward to sharing knowledge, engaging in discussion, and answering questions in efforts to keep toads and turtles on our ecosystem team!
