Verena Shaw is a very passionate naturalist who loves to get outside into the wild exploring and has been a nature nerd for many years. Verena has been involved with various environmental projects with some local bird related ones being Wildsight Golden’s Columbia Wetlands Waterbird Survey, marsh bird and Lewis’ Woodpecker surveys, and leading bird walks. When coming to the Wings Over the Rockies Bird Festival several years ago she fell deeply in love with this area and the amazing Columbia Wetlands. She is thrilled to be part of the Upper Columbia Swallow Habitat Enhancement Project and looks forward to helping to further
protect this area with the help of the many important volunteers involved.
