Wild Ideas Invermere: Coexisting with Bears

Thursday, May 18, 2017
Invermere Branch
Location:
Circle Cafe, Invermere

Bears: most people love them, many fear them, and many blame the animal when conflict occurs – but this is often due to a lack of understanding on our part. The reality is that we share the landscape with these “majestic”, “terrifying”, or “nuisance” creatures, having similar food interests and landscape requirements. Many British Columbians have a good sense of how to co-exist with bears, but there are a lot of myths out there!

Join Wildsafe BC’s Andrea Smillie in breaking down these myths and address human-wildlife conflict in the backcountry and in our communities. Let’s see where this conversation takes us!
