We are partnering with the East Kootenay Invasive Species Council (EKISC) and hosting a weed pull August 11th from 4-6 PM followed by a BBQ. The event will be held at Ray Brydon Park in Invermere. Following the weed pull will be a BBQ as a thank you to all of our volunteers! We truly couldn’t do what we do, without the community’s support!
There will be as short presentation by EKISC staff to help with identification of species and to discuss threats that invasive species can cause ecologically and economically. ID books, garbage bags and gloves will be provided.
This family-friendly event is an excellent opportunity to learn more about invasive plants. Participants will learn about how to identify, control, and dispose of invasive plants.
Please bring protective clothing, a water bottle and sunscreen. All food will be provided.
