An inspiring 40-minute film documentary
Join videographer and environmental educator Sanne van der Ros and head downstream with the 2019 Wildsight Columbia River Field School students. In 2018, Wildsight launched the Columbia River Field School. One year later, on our 2019 course, we were joined by Sanne in her role as a student in the Master’s of Environmental Education and Communication Program at Royal Roads University. Sanne did some amazing research focused on how the CRFS experience impacted students’ attitudes, understandings, and ideas about their home watershed. She has just now finished both her degree and a heartwarming and inspiring 40-minute film documentary called Voice of a River that follows the Field School journey.
We’re pleased to be partnering with Sanne and the Columbia Basin Environmental Education Network to host the first public screening of the film on the evening of March 11th from 6 – 7:30 PT / 7 – 8:30 MT. After screening the film, there will be a Q&A with Sanne and Field School leaders followed by a workshop session that is aimed at educators but open to anyone. Feel free to just join for the film screening or stay to explore how we can better connect students (or children, friends, adults, anyone) to the watershed they call home.
