Join us on Monday July 18 from 9:30am – 11:30am at Spooner Park in Cranbrook to rid the park’s Joseph Creek shoreline of Burdock (a nasty invasive weed).

What is provided:

  • tools
  • a snack with cold drinks

What should you bring:

  • your friends and family
  • proper clothing for the weather – remember your hats and sunscreen
  • your personal gloves
  • long pants and long sleeves

What the park has to offer:

  • access to the washroom facilities at Western Financial Place
  • a picnic table

Why do we need your help? Invasive plant species continue to move into our region at an alarming rate. Without the action of residents, there are not enough resources to battle the threat. Heightened public knowledge about identification and management of invasive species can lead to more effective removal of invasive plants and restoration of native plant communities.

This project is made possible through the support of the Columbia Basin Trust, and the Community Foundation of the Kootenay Rockies.
