It’s time for our annual seed swap event!

Seedy Saturdays, or in our case this year Seedy SUNDAYS, are a series of events that occur throughout different communities encouraging local seed exchanging and sharing education about seed saving and environmentally responsible gardening practices. Whether you’re a gardening pro or just starting to get your hands dirty, there is much to be shared, so join us for Seedy SUNDAY to plan for the upcoming growing season and to connect, exchange, and learn!

Event Details

Date: Sunday, March 10, 2024
Time: 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Location: Lindsay Park Elementary School (602 Salmo St., Kimberley)

Things to know: Bring your seeds for the exchange!

What can you expect?

This event is an early afternoon get-together hosted by the Lindsay Park Elementary School Garden Club in partnership with Kayla Wilson from CBAL and our very own Chad Kile, Sustainability Coordinator for the Kimberley Community Garden and our Backyard Farmers Project. There will be activities for kids (games and crafts), get-to-know-the-seed library information, and a gardening lecture presentation. This year will highlight opportunities for seed exchanging — and we’ll even have snacks for you to enjoy and a seedling to take home!

What is the Kimberley Seed Library?

A seed library is exactly what it sounds like! It is a library of locally curated seeds for gardeners to exchange and learn from. It is a way to preserve genetic diversity and learn what grows best in our high-altitude community. We ask that you please bring your seeds to share with the seed library and each other!
