These walks are family friendly and will explore various trails and habitats in the Creston Valley. Come out to learn about the ecology of the Creston Valley and have fun!
Join us for a special guided nature walk on the Thompson Pack Trail in Creston, where you’ll explore diverse ecosystems, learn about local wildlife, and enjoy a bear spray demonstration by Dee Howard, Creston’s Wildlife Coexistence Coordinator. This collaborative community event, hosted with Wildsight Creston Valley, the Creston Valley Rod & Gun Club, and the Creston Community Forest, offers an engaging way to experience the trail’s rich history and natural beauty.

This walk will take place from 10:00–12:00 am on Sunday, September 14 2025 at the Thompson Pack Trail. We will walk to the first Sullivan Creek bridge and back. The walk gains 200m in elevation and is a 2.5 km return trip. The trail pass through a fire mitigation block and enters a shady forest for most of the walk. We will meet at the end of Vance Road. Bring extra layers, snacks, water and your curiosity.

Rain or Shine – bring sunhat, sunscreen, sweater, rain jacket, bug spray
We will gain 200m in elevation on the trail.

The Creston Community Forest is a forest management company operating within 21,00 ha of land surrounding the Creston Valley. The Creston Community Forest aims to sustainably manage the surrounding forests to ensure ecosystem resilience, as well as long-term timber production for the Creston Community.
