Join other paddlers and naturalists from Wildsight Golden in an exploratory paddle of the UNESCO World Heritage site, the Columbia Wetlands.

The paddle will take place from Brisco to Spillimacheen.

Bring your paddleboard, kayak or canoe and paddle with us during this dramatic time in the wetlands. Or contact us if you are looking for a partner to paddle with.

Please leave your FURRY children at home as this is a sensitive time for nesting waterfowl.

This will be a slow paddle, so beginner paddlers are welcome as well as non furry children.

PDFs, snacks, good outdoor gear and water are required.

Meet at Reflection Lake at 9 AM to consolidate vehicles and car pool. We should be finished paddling about 1 PM and will return to Golden by around 2:30 PM.

This is a BC Trails Day event.

Please note:

We have a couple of extra canoes available to borrow and we may be able to pair you with someone who is coming alone.

There are kayak rentals available through Glacier Rafting or https://www.goldenpaddle.ca/.

https://www.goldenpaddle.ca/ has paddleboards, kayaks and canoes to rent as well.

We will be accompanied by a certified paddler. His certifications include 80 hour wilderness first responder, Swiftwater Rescue Technician, Moving Water Canoe Instructor for Paddle Canada.

There will not be lessons provided. All participants must WEAR a Pfd and sign a waiver.
