The love for our BC waterways runs deep! Join us by canoe, kayak, or paddle board for Wildsight Invermere’s 6th annual paddle on the Columbia River.
BC Rivers Day was founded by world-renowned river advocate Mark Angelo and the Outdoor Recreation Council of BC in 1980 to celebrate and build public awareness for our waterways. Globally, rivers and freshwater ecosystems are among the most at-risk ecosystems on the planet with increased threats from urbanization, pollution, industrial development, invasive species, damming, and excessive water extraction and climate change.
Meet at the Athalmer Boat Launch at 10 am on Sunday, September 24th to paddle from Athalmer to Radium. This will be a casual, unguided event that takes about 4 hours. It’s a great opportunity to connect with others and celebrate the importance of our rivers. Bring a lunch and appropriate clothing.
Our friends at Columbia River Paddle are once again offering discounted rentals and shuttles at$60/person for a canoe, double or single kayak, which includes a shuttle back to Athalmer, or $25/person for a shuttle with your own boat. These prices do not include taxes.
Please book your boat rental or shuttle by email to paddle@columbiariverpaddle.com or by calling 250-342-7397.
