Register for bear awareness walk

An event to celebrate and learn about all things BEAR!

At Pothole Park between 11am-1.30pm, Saturday August 17th.

Featuring:

  • Bear spray demos with WildSafeBC and tips on bear safety
  • Conservation Officer Service showing how they manage bear-people conflict (hint: prevention is #1) and how they trap a bear if needed.
  • We’re also very lucky to have researcher Bryon Benn lead a bear awareness and knowledge walk through Ray Brydon Park (free but space is limited, sign up above!)
  • And of course there will be plenty of games and children’s activities on a bear theme

Bear Awareness and Knowledge Walk

Walk through Ray Brydon Park with bear expert Bryon Benn. He will share from his wealth of knowledge on the behaviours and ecology of these wonderful animals, and show how to be aware for bears when you’re out in the wilderness (or at home!) and what to do if you meet one.

(Start time tbc, sign up to register your interest and we’ll be in touch with more details)
