Apple season is here! Join Wildsight Kimberley Cranbrook for our KIMBERLEY volunteer apple picking and pressing on Saturday September 14 & Sunday September 22.

Picking on Saturday September 14th from 10am-1pm – Pressing juice on Sunday September 22 from 10am-2pm. Details below!

 

PICKING SATURDAY SEPT 14

On Saturday September 14 we’ll be visiting and picking fruit from local trees in Kimberley!

Volunteers meet at the Kimberley Community Garden to form picking teams, get tree location details, grab ladders and picking tools and then have some fun picking apples! After the bounty is collected, we meet back at the Kimberley Community Garden to drop off apples for the pressing event the following Sunday!

Schedule:
10:00 am to 10:30 am – Meet at the Kimberley Community Garden for introductions, team building, and map handouts to local trees
10:30 am to 12:30 pm – Head out to local trees for picking!
12:30 pm – 1:00 pm – Meet back at the Kimberley Community Garden to drop off apples to the apple capture shed.

 

PRESSING SUNDAY SEPT 22

On Sunday September 22 we’ll be processing our locally picked apples into delicious and nutritious juice!

Volunteers meet again at the Kimberley Community Garden to take part in the fun, drink some juice, and of course take some home! Any left over juice from the event will be donated to the local food bank. Following the pressing event is Wildsight’s harvest party potluck, beginning at 1pm and located in the Kimberley Community Garden!

Schedule:
10:00 am to 1:30 am -Meet at the Kimberley Community Garden to press apples!
1:30 am to 2:00 pm -Wrap up and clean up

Wildsafe BC is also hosting the following:

11 am to 12 pm – Electric Fencing Demo with Gillian Sanders
12 pm to 1 pm – Bear Spray Demo with Danica Roussy
