Get Wild! Summer Day Camp

Get Wild’s mission is to inspire youth to connect with our community and nature through fun inclusive outdoor activities.

2024 will be the tenth annual GET WILD! summer outdoor environmental education camp for children 6-10 years old.

Participants will learn more about local ecosystems through play and exploration. The camp will run weekly, 9–3 pm.

This program is for those parents who want their children to be outside and come home stoked, dirty and happy.

Activities include: nature discovery and adventure games, local hikes, bird-watching, community gardening, take home art from nature, sports, community volunteering, music and drama, survival skills, swimming and much more outdoor fun! Each week on Thursdays we go on a full day field trip to a local attraction such as Wapta Falls, Organic Sports Ranch, Cedar Lake and Kicking Horse Mountain Resort.

What is the process?  We open registration on May 7 at 11 AM. Camp dates will be first come, first serve.
1) Parent emails golden@wildsight.ca to indicate interest for camp
2) Wildsight Golden emails a registration form and parent handbook.
3) Parent completes the registration form, maximum of 2 weeks can be booked at this time.
4) Wildsight Golden confirms application for registration. The spot will be held for 24 hours without payment.
5) Parent sends e transfer, or comes to the office within 24 hours with payment and signs waiver & sends it.
6) Wildsight Golden sends final confirmation.

Changes to 2024 Parent Manual include:
Registration, Refunds & Cancellations
When registration opens, each family will be able to book two weeks for camp for each child. Payment must be received in full within 5 working days or the spot will be released to the next family. Our camp has become so popular that people are registering to save spots “just in case”, this is not workable from our perspective or people looking for childcare.
After registration has been open for 2 weeks, families can book other weeks as available. This will allow to keep camp full, but give everyone an opportunity to get a week or two for their children.
If the camp session is cancelled by Wildsight Golden for any reason, you will receive a full refund or you may choose to transfer to another session if space is available.
If you need to cancel your session, two week’s notice is required for a full refund AND we must be able to fill your spot. If your child is unable to attend camp due to illness or accident, a full or partial refund may be considered. Please advise the camp coordinator who will consult with her supervisors.
