Invasive-free wildflower seed bomb workshop

Thursday, July 16, 2026 at 5 - 7 pm

Location:
Kimberley Farmers' Market
Address:
Howard St., Kimberley

Wildsight Kimberley Cranbrook and the East Kootenay Invasive Species Council invite community members of all ages to make seed bombs and learn how to reduce invasive species!

Drop in for this kid-friendly workshop and make seed bombs with non-invasive wildflowers. While making your own seed bombs, learn more about how we can reduce invasive species in our own backyards. Then take your seed bombs home and spread a little love!

What is a seed bomb, you ask?

It is a ball of compost, clay, and seeds designed to be dropped onto neglected areas as an alternative seeding method. The hard outer layer protects the seeds inside from birds and insects. Rain eventually dissolves it, and natural flower germination begins.

This fun, interactive, and hands-on activity is free for all ages. No registration is required—simply find us at the Kimberley Farmers’ Market!

This workshop is hosted in partnership with the East Kootenay Invasive Species Council, who are generously providing seeds for the workshop. They will also have additional seeds for sale at their info booth.
