Event Details

Do you dream of a future in the Columbia Valley that is truly sustainable – environmentally, socially, and economically? Have you been wanting to make shifts in your life and your community but don’t know where to start? There’s so much information out there and it can be easy to get overwhelmed and take the leap!

This Earth Day, join Wildsight and imagine the valley you want to see in 50 years from now. Meet your neighbours, learn new skills and (most importantly) have some fun while embarking on this adventure with your community!

We’ll be celebrating and sharing the work of local superheroes who will be there in-person, offering a wide range of learning and action opportunities that will meet you where you’re at on your personal sustainability journey.

Embark on the Adventure! (What to Expect…)

Earth Day will begin with a community cleanup for those who wish to launch right into action! The Fair will kick off at 10am, featuring mini workshops throughout the day, a pop-up repair zone, creative kids activities, live music, refreshments, and local experts offering tangible take-homes as you embark on your sustainability journey. Get advice to repair your well-loved gear, test-drive an electric vehicle, or learn about “climate emotions” from a community mental health expert.

The Unsung Heroes (Community Experts you’ll get the Chance to Meet)

Did you know Invermere is the first rural community in Canada with an 100% electric vehicle share? Or that we have a Library of Things where you can borrow items instead of buying-them new? These are just a couple of many ways our community is already future-proofing itself. At the Earth Day Fair, you’ll learn about so many more…

  • thinkBright Homes

  • Energy Economics
  • Columbia Valley Cycling Association
  • Old Blue Truck Farms
  • Canadian Eco-Psychology Network

& more to be announced, along with workshop details coming soon.
