Fernie Seedy Saturday will showcase the world of seeds for gardeners, nature lovers and plant lovers!

The 2024 Annual Seedy Saturday will be held in Fernie on February 24th at 10am at the Senior Citizens Society and Drop-in Centre.

Wildsight Elk Valley’s Community EcoGarden has been hosting seed swap events every winter since 2005. Most seeds offered have come from plants grown in members’ gardens and at the EcoGarden itself.

Seedy Saturdays, hosted by communities all over Canada, bring gardeners together in the midst of our long winter. There are opportunities to purchase and swap garden seeds, and to learn about seed saving, composting and other garden skills. Most important of all, it is an opportunity to network with other gardeners.

If you have saved seeds from your garden and have some cleaned and ready to share, you can drop them off at the Local store (632 2nd Avenue, Fernie) or bring them to our Seedy Saturday.
