From solar panel manufacture and recycling, to analysis of historical and forecasted rates, to technical electrical considerations, many of your questions will be answered.
Rick Tiefenbach, Lead Solar Design Expert from Kootenay Solar, will provide a detailed overview of how solar photovoltaics produce electricity, how systems are constructed and what hardware is used, how grid-tied net-metering and batteries work, as well as monitoring and maintenance concerns.
In addition, the presentation will cover the broader picture of the environmental context, micro versus mega generation, and the energy landscape of BC into the future. For any questions that are not answered, Rick will be eager to address them in the discussion portion.
Rick hails from Castlegar, BC by way of Regina. He brings a wealth of experience in the solar industry and a detailed technical knowledge of the development of solar hardware and design configurations. His background education in Business Administration and former career in Financial Planning are the perfect foundational complement, making him uniquely qualified to see the world of solar in a skeptical yet practical and exacting way.
