The community of Moyie is working through the creation of its Official Community Plan (OCP). One of the key issues that has been raised by residents in this process is the future of the Moyie Narrows and options to preserve it. The Moyie Narrows are a ~3km stretch of river linking the north and south Moyie Lakes. On Saturday, May 28, the Regional District of the East Kootenay will be hosting a public information meeting to discuss options to protect the Moyie Narrows. Given the complexities and multi-jurisdictions of water management, representatives will be present from the Canadian federal government, the BC provincial government and the Regional District of the East Kootenay.
OCP’s guide the future of our communities – please join the conversation and learn what you can do to protect the beloved Moyie Narrows.

The meeting will take place at the Eagle’s Nest Campground from 1-3pm on Saturday, May 26.
