Wildsight Kimberley Cranbrook launches Stillpoint Festival, featuring a one-of-a-kind Banff World Tour Summit Screening

KIMBERLEY, B.C. — Wildsight Kimberley Cranbrook is proud to announce the launch of Stillpoint Festival , a brand new three-day arts and culture festival that culminates in a one-of-a-kind Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour Summit Screening atop Kimberley Alpine Resort.

The festival marks the largest fundraising initiative in Wildsight Kimberley Cranbrook’s history, bringing together outdoor adventure, film, live music, local culture, and community celebration while supporting conservation and environmental education programs throughout the region.

Stillpoint began with an ambitious idea. As beneficiaries of the local Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour fundraiser for more than 30 years, Wildsight Kimberley Cranbrook was invited to pitch a unique screening as part of the World Tour’s 50th anniversary celebrations.

“We dreamed up a mountaintop screening facing the iconic Rocky Mountain Trench,” explains World Tour event volunteer Trixie Pacis. “Of all the pitches submitted across North America, our vision was selected as the winner, granting us the opportunity to bring an incredible lineup of inspiring and award-winning Banff World Tour films to the top of Kimberley Alpine Resort.”

“As we began planning, we realized the summit venue could only accommodate a limited number of guests,” says Sparta Humphreys, Fundraising Coordinator of Wildsight Kimberley Cranbrook and lead organizer behind Stillpoint. “Rather than creating an incredible evening for just a few people, we wanted to build something that the entire community could experience. That idea grew into Stillpoint Festival.”

Running over three days, Stillpoint Festival will offer experiences for every budget, from free family-friendly programming to premium mountaintop events with limited capacity.

“We could have simply hosted a remarkable mountaintop fundraiser for a fortunate few. Instead, we chose to build something the whole community could be part of,” Humphreys adds. “Stillpoint pairs premium experiences with free and affordable programming, creating access while strengthening Wildsight’s ability to keep showing up for our community. We hope this demonstration year becomes the foundation for an annual celebration that benefits Kimberley for years to come.”

The signature Summit Screening will see guests ride the North Star Chair at sunset before gathering for an alpine cinema experience featuring a fresh lineup of Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour 50th anniversary films. A simultaneous screening at the Kimberley Conference Centre will allow even more people to take part, with advance tickets available and additional tickets released if weather permits.

Guests looking for an elevated experience can purchase the Peak Experience , an intimate pre-screening gathering at Kootenay Haus featuring tapas-style dining, beverages, live music, and special entertainment before the summit screening.

Festival programming extends well beyond the mountain all weekend long. Thursday will feature an expanded Kimberley Farmers’ Market alongside interactive activities in partnership with Cirque Aurora and Boundless Circus Arts & Events , as well as a special presentation at Centre 64’s outdoor stage. Friday includes a Deer Park Avenue block party, street performances, and an outdoor showcase of local films at Centre 64’s outdoor stage. Saturday programming includes a film industry panel and workshop presented in partnership with the Kootenay Screen-Based Industry (KSBI) Initiative and Kootenay Film Commission, a pre-screening plaza gathering, featuring a sponsor expo & market,  KORE ReHub repair intake, and additional activities throughout the day.

Programming continues to evolve, with additional announcements to be made throughout the summer.

Summit Screening and Peak Experience ticket sales begin July 31, 2026.

To help make premium experiences more accessible, Wildsight Kimberley Cranbrook will also host several fundraising raffles throughout the summer. More than 20 Summit Screening tickets—including coveted Peak Experience packages—will be awarded through multiple draws. Additional raffles include a 50/50 draw, a Kootenay golf getaway, and a Festival Weekend Raffle featuring experiences from local and regional businesses.

All hands on deck: Wildsight Kimberley Cranbrook is also inviting businesses, organizations, and community members to help bring the festival to life through sponsorships, prize donations, in-kind support, and volunteer participation. Volunteers will receive access to select ticketed events as a thank you for their support. Due to the limited capacity of the mountaintop venue, Summit Screening volunteer positions will be assigned by lottery.

“Wildsight Kimberley Cranbrook is a small but mighty team,” Humphreys shares. “With just 1.5 staff positions, supported by contractors and dedicated volunteers, we deliver year-round environmental programs, community events, and education that reach thousands of people across our area. We welcome support and collaboration from the community to bring this event to life.”
