Terry and his wife Laura are long time Fernie residents, and have been involved in many community supporting activities over the years. Strong advocates for conservation
of natural and heritage spaces, through their book writing and public speaking exchanges, and Laura’s art projects their contributions are many. The preservation of
the regions forests and wildlands, stand as a prime motivator to be involved with Wildsight.

Now retired, and having been the City of Fernie – Senior Eng. Tech for 25 years, Terry brings strong knowledge of municipal management and infrastructure responsibilities.
Terry has acted as Chair for the Fernie Trails Alliance, advocating for the management of this important recreational resource. The successful achievements of both the Fairy Creek Bridge and the Elk Valley Trail projects stand as proud moments during his tenure.

As the author of two books: Fernie Area Trails and Natural Plant Compendium, and Big Trees of the Inland Temperate Forests of British Columbia, his passion for the natural
world has been well expressed. Only through significant field observations and detailed research could these books have been assembled

The many varied and positive changes that Wildsight continues to influence is very inspirational, and Terry looks forward to participating in the progressive activities that
support these changes.

Terry has participated within the Elk Valley Wildsight Board in the past, and looks forward to having the opportunity to work with the passionate individuals that help to move the important environmental issues in the valley forward.
