Rebecca Gidney

Rebecca grew up on the Bay of Fundy in the ocean playground of Nova Scotia. She found a passion for conservation while volunteering with sea turtles on a tiny Caribbean island where she lived for 8 years before returning to Canada and working in the social service sector. 

She holds a Community Studies degree from Cape Breton University and has spent the last 20 years working in the non-profit sector. 

She found her way to the Kootenays in 2014 and in awe of the beauty of the Creston Valley, decided to call it home. She loves climbing mountains, gardening and sitting in the peace of Kootenay Lake. 

Rebecca was drawn to her current role hoping to help foster environmental stewardship and is grateful to be a part of the Wildsight team.
