Whether she’s examining interesting rocks or admiring a particularly cute slug, Cate Doerksen is always eager to learn more about the natural world. She is currently completing her third year of a Geoscience degree at Vancouver Island University. Her passion for the outdoors expanded while living on Vancouver Island, where she discovered a love for hiking and exploring new landscapes.

Drawn to Wildsight’s mix of environmental stewardship, community engagement, and hands-on work, Cate is looking forward to connecting with local residents, getting her hands dirty in the garden, and learning from the people and places that make the Kimberley Cranbrook region unique.
