Karen Barkley

Karen Barkley settled in Invermere from Banff several years ago, bringing her vast experience in climate change and community issues. She was the Operations Manager with the Global Call for Climate Action for over 8 years and was Project Manager for The Resilience Institute in Canmore, AB. She has worked in international development in Nigeria and Nepal. Over the years, Karen has managed festivals, dance companies, and theatre programs and co-founded a charitable organisation in Nepal. She holds a Bachelor of Social Work, post grad courses in Environmental Management and Climate Change. Karen is very excited to continue supporting the work of Wildsight Invermere as she transitions from being Branch manager into Board member in 2024. When not at her computer, she can be found wandering hiking and ski trails with her dog Dorje.
