Join Wildsight Golden for our 17th Annual Community Weed Pull along the Kicking Horse River at Confluence Park on Friday, August 7, from 5:00–7:00 p.m.
Together, we’ll help protect one of Golden’s treasured natural areas by removing invasive plants such as Spotted Knapweed, Western Goatsbeard, and Common Tansy. These non-native species spread quickly, outcompeting native wildflowers, reducing biodiversity, and impacting wildlife habitat. By removing them before they spread further, we give native plants like Mountain Avens, Pearly Everlasting, and Goldenrod the opportunity to thrive, creating healthier ecosystems for pollinators, birds, and other wildlife.
Community events like this make a real difference. Every volunteer helps reduce the spread of invasive species while connecting with neighbours who care about keeping our local landscapes healthy and beautiful. Whether you’re a seasoned weed-puller or trying it for the first time, everyone of all ages and abilities is welcome!
As a thank-you for your hard work, all volunteers will receive a free Reposados burrito at the end of the evening. Come lend a hand, enjoy the outdoors, and celebrate a job well done with a delicious meal!
Wildsight Golden will provide water, gloves, a few tools, and garbage bags. If you have gloves and extra hand tools please feel free to bring your own for personal use.
