With the largest civic observance in the world, Earth Day attracts over 1 billion people yearly who are dedicated to furthering climate action. This year again, Wildsight Elk Valley is partnering with the Fernie Heritage Library (FHL), as we are both some of those people.
For two years running FHL have fulfilled the goal of building an eyesore of trash in their parking lot, with help from our climate conscious community! This year we’re back at it with support from Fernie Home Hardware, Teck, and Patti’s Party Rentals.
How it works:
1. If you need gloves and bags please pick up from the Library during open hours April 18th – 22nd.
2. Collect trash around our community.
3. Bring the bag of trash you collected to the Library parking lot between 11am – 4pm on Saturday April 22nd.
4. In exchange for your help you will be gifted an activity bag with seedlings thanks to our dedicated volunteers at Elk Valley Wildsight.
**Please note**
– We will only accept trash bags collected from the community clean-up, NOT household waste or yard waste.
– No trash will be collected before 11am or after 4pm on Saturday April 22nd.
