It’s time to celebrate our recent win in the BC Court of Appeal!

In short: After years of court cases and appeals, the B.C. Court of Appeal ruled that Glacier Resort’s environmental certificate has expired and they cannot proceed with construction. Read more on the decision in our press release.

This is an important win for the Jumbo Valley and, after more than two decades, we are thrilled to invite you to join with Wildsight, Jumbo Creek Conservation Society, and Chief Alfred Joseph of Akisqnuk for a celebration of the community persistence and collaboration that has ensured that Jumbo / Qat’muk will stay wild.

Please join us for a community potluck and gathering:

  • When: Monday, August 12 from 5:30 – 9:00 pm. Potluck at 6:00 pm. Come for a short visit or stay a while.
  • Location
Akisqnuk Arbour, behind the Akisqnuk Band Hall at Windermere.
    3050 BC-93, Windermere, BC V0B 2L2
(This is an outdoor gathering, so dress for the weather).
  • **Bring food to share for the potluck, and your own beverages. This is an alcohol-free event. Please also bring your own dishes and cutlery.**
  • Music by the band Smarty Pants: Bring an instrument if you would like to share a tune.

We know that some of you will not be able to make it on such short notice. If you can’t be with us on Monday, please take a moment to make a toast to Jumbo Wild and to the amazing community that keeps it wild, together.

We hope to see you there!
