Guided Swallow Walk
Join project biologist Rachel Darvill and naturalist Verena Shaw for a guided walk around Kicking Horse Mountain Resort to observe both Barn and Cliff Swallows and learn about their fascinating biology, identification tips, and local conservation initiatives.
10:30 am – 12:00 pm
Swallow Treasure Hunt
A fun and educational scavenger hunt for children and families, featuring swallow-themed activities.

Swallow Information Booth
Visit the Wildsight Golden booth to learn about local swallow species, ongoing conservation projects, and simple ways you can help protect or coexist with nesting swallows.
The event celebrates a six-year partnership between Kicking Horse Mountain Resort and the Upper Columbia Swallow Habitat Enhancement Project. The resort is home to what is believed to be the largest active Barn Swallow colony currently known in the Columbia Valley, demonstrating how wildlife conservation and recreation can successfully coexist.
