Help Tackle Invasive Species in the Columbia Valley
Join Wildsight Invermere and the East Kootenay Invasive Species Council (EKISC) on Thursday, June 26 from 4:30–7:30 PM for a community weed pull at Columbia Lake! This hands-on volunteer opportunity is a great way to learn about invasive species, help protect local ecosystems, and make a visible difference in the Columbia Valley.
Meeting location: THE LOCAL coffeehouse at 4:30pm. We’ll carpool/follow one another to the Weed Pull spot.
Weed pull location: The road out to CL Provincial park, in particular, the area where the road abuts the river.
No experience is necessary—we’ll provide all the tools, supplies, and guidance. Just bring a water bottle, sun protection, and your enthusiasm for caring for our local environment.
EKISC are providing hot dogs and snacks, if you have dietary restrictions, please reply to your confirmation email to let us know, and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Come connect with fellow community members and help keep our natural spaces healthy and resilient. If you’re only able to attend for a portion of the event, that is completely fine, many hands make light work.
