Lisa Larkin
Branch Board Director
Kimberley Cranbrook Branch
Lisa Larkin is passionate about building healthy, connected communities through food, environmental stewardship, and collaborative action. She grew up in Creston, where her parents instilled principles of sustainable, biodiverse gardening practices and eating farm-to-table was a core approach to meals at home. A registered nurse by background, Lisa has spent much of her career bringing people together to tackle complex challenges in healthcare, sustainability, and community wellbeing.
Over the years, she has become deeply involved in planetary health and local food initiatives in both BC and Alberta, serving on food sovereignty committees, supporting food recovery efforts , and helping advance regional planetary health projects. Lisa is particularly interested addressing connection with nature within the context of the social determinants of health, climate action, and community resilience.
When she’s not volunteering, she is gardening, creating in the kitchen, sewing eco-textiles, exploring local trails, or enjoying the incredible natural beauty of the Kootenays with family and friends. She is excited to support Wildsight’s work to protect the environment while helping to build vibrant and sustainable communities.
