This position has been filled.

Are you a college student looking for a part-time job during the school year? Wildsight is looking for a Communications Intern to work with us during the school year in our Kimberley office.

You’ll be working with our Communications & Development Manager, and the rest of the Wildsight team in Kimberley and throughout the Kootenays, to help spread Wildsight’s message and fundraise to support our work. The work will be varied, including social media and website, local events, working in our database, helping with fundraising and communicating with donors, generally helping out in our office, and possibly writing, editing and proofreading, depending on your skill level. While your work will require you to work in our Kimberley office sometimes, there will be opportunities to work from home for about half of the work and a fair bit of schedule flexibility (we understand that sometimes studying for your exams is more important than your job).

You should:

  • Be enrolled in a full-time post-secondary program for 2018/19
  • Be self-motivated, independent, and able to work on multiple projects
  • Pay attention to detail
  • Have a passion for the wild

Ideally, you:

  • Have a knowledge of environmental issues in British Columbia and in the Kootenays
  • Have good language skills including editing, proofreading and writing
  • Have social media experience

Hours: an average of 10 hours and up to 15 hours a week for the school year (September to April)

Wage: $15/hour

Job Location: Kimberley, BC

Please send your resume and a writing sample of any kind to info@wildsight.ca. We will conduct rolling interviews until the position is filled.

This position is made possible with pending support of the Columbia Basin Trust through the Schoolworks program.
