Invermere Program Coordinator
Lianna Ferguson is an environmental scientist, naturalist and wildlife guide with a passion for connecting people with the wild and facilitating discussions to find common ground. Originally from the Adirondacks in NY, she spent her childhood exploring the expansive lakes, waterways and forests of this region. She attended SUNY Cobleskill and obtained a Bachelors in Wildlife Management, followed by a Masters in Environmental Science at the University of Colorado. The vulnerability of the western landscapes always captivated her, so she journeyed northward to Montana after graduation. She secured a job with the Yellowstone Wolf Project doing Winter Study, as well as becoming a naturalist guide for Yellowstone Wolftracker, a private biologist-led ecotourism company that operates on the Northern Range. Lianna realized that it was vital to have these experiences that not only connect us with each other, but also to the landscape. Lianna moved to BC in 2021, and is incredibly excited to call the valley home and to build lasting connections with the community and the wild things that live here.
