Community Invasive Plant Program Coordinator
Originally from Edmonton, Evelyn spent her formative years in the Bow Valley, where she fell in love with the wild mountain spaces. After completing her undergrad degree in Geography at UBC, Evelyn moved to Ottawa to pursue a career with Parks Canada. While in Ottawa, she discovered her love for environmental education and worked alongside passionate educators at the Ottawa-Carleton Outdoor Education Centres. In 2019, Evelyn moved to Nelson and enrolled in a rural teacher education program. Her teacher training led her to beautiful Golden, where Evelyn now teaches on-call with the Rocky Mountain School Division. Evelyn is inspired daily by the small and large wonders of nature. She is grateful for the opportunities she has had to explore and recreate in the outdoors; she is committed to protecting these wild spaces for future generations.
