AGM starts 7pm, followed by the award-winning film narrated by David Suzuki – ‘Beyond Climate’. 

 

Dear Members and Friends,
You are invited to attend the 2024 Annual General Meeting of Wildsight Invermere.
 
We will gather beforehand at 6pm for potluck dinner and nibbles, to connect, chat and celebrate in the traditional way: over food!

       2. Special Resolution: Updating our ‘Purpose’ as registered with BC Societies.
          Current Purpose:
           The purposes of the Society are: 
           1. to promote the maintenance of a healthy, liveable environment for all life; 
           2. to prevent and eliminate pollution; 
           3. to promote conservation; 
           4. to assist others in the pursuit of environmental conservation; 
           5. to investigate, study and correlate facts with respect to ecological and pollution problems and     make available such studies to the general public; 
           6.  to develop strategies for the long term viability of our community in harmony with above purposes 

          Proposed Purpose:
           The purposes of the Society are to:
           1.     Work with community partners to protect and conserve our local natural environment and species to ensure that thriving resilient ecosystems endure into the future.

           2.     Raise awareness and engagement on climate change actions, informed by current science and based on best practices.

           3.     Actively engage our members and the broader public in interactive, educational, and celebratory events to promote connection with and understanding of our natural world.

           4.     Operate a professional and efficient organization with the resources necessary to fulfill our strategic goals.
