A timeless duo – a community weed pull and a tasty (free) BBQ!

Join us for the second year, along with the East Kootenay Invasive Species Council (EKISC), as we combine forces to rid the park of its weed invaders. As the evening cools, we can take some reprieve listening to the mesmerizing sound of Mark Creek and enjoy a lovely BBQ and social.

When:
Friday, July 7 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm

Where:
Marysville Eco Park

Things to know:

  • Equipment will be provided
  • Be sure to dress according to the weather, the park can be hot so please remember your hats and sunscreen
  • Bring some gloves if you don’t want to get your hands dirty, though we will have some available if you don’t have your own
  • The park has lovely picnic tables and a fully functioning bathroom

Why do we need your help? Invasive plant species continue to move into our region at an alarming rate. Without the action of residents, there are not enough resources to battle the threat. Heightened public knowledge about identification and management of invasive species can lead to more effective removal of invasive plants and restoration of native plant communities.
