Exploring Cultural Traditions: Cattail Basketry in the Columbia Valley

Join Indigenous Artist Lillian Rose as she guides us in the traditional skills of harvesting local reeds and weaving them into baskets.

This workshop will also explore the multicultural aspect of our area by giving space for participants to swap tales and share food.

This project has two parts:

Harvesting the materials and weaving the baskets. Harvesting will take place on August 20 at Reflection Lake starting at 4 PM.

Weaving the Baskets will occur on October 4 from 10 until 4 at the Golden Museum.

There will be a fee of $25, funding will be available.
