Calling all that are interested in learning more about plants and biodiversity – Citizen scientists wanted to BioBlitz!

What is a BioBlitz?

A BioBlitz is a communal citizen-science effort to record as many species within a designated location and time period as possible.

BioBlitz’s are great ways to engage the public to connect to their environment while generating useful data for science and conservation. They are also an excuse for naturalists, scientists, and curious members of the public to meet in person in the great outdoors and are a lot of fun!

So join us in a BioBlitz on Biodiversity Day! Join us in learning how to identify plants and help with our West Bench Ecological Study.

In order to participate, please download i-naturalist on your device and meet us at Cedar Lake Recreation Site, boat launch at 10:00 AM on Biodiversity Day, May 22, 2022.

We will be spreading out and identifying different plants to go into a database to help us understand West Bench ecology and biodiversity.

Bring your lunch and socialize with other citizen scientists. There will be local naturalists on site to assist.
