Wild Connections

Wildsight Invermere is an active part of the community. We stay current to the Columbia Valley’s varied interests, needs, and understanding of environmental issues. Beginning in 2016, our core community programming has focused on Wild Connections.

Wild Connections events, engagements and activities focus on our connection to climate, wildlife, wilderness, water–the natural systems we all depend on to thrive,

Wildsight believes that developing deep connections and positive relationships with nature will result in environmental stewardship, and a dedication to caring for the environment. It has been shown that the best way to do so is to spend time outside. Our Wild Connections program does that by offering inspirational, educational and experiential outdoor activities for residents and visitors, young and old.

Beyond time spent outside, our Wild Connections program offers learning opportunities through our hands-on workshops, our annual Ursus & Us Bear Day in Invermere, and our film and speaker events. Wild Connections also provides opportunities to engage in direct environmental action through community work bees and clean-ups.

And to keep us all motivated, Wild Connections brings the Columbia Valley together for an evening of food and drinks, community, and celebration at our annual Wild & Scenic Film Festival, featuring the world’s best–and most inspiring–environmental themed films.

We are all connected to the wild.
