Responsible Recreation

In an effort to protect sensitive front and backcountry areas, we work on many levels to promote responsible recreation. Wildsight Invermere is a dedicated participant in the Columbia Valley Recreation Access Management Plan that is collaborating with motorized and non-motorized sectors to develop a comprehensive user plan.

Check out the Wildsight blog called What’s at Stake? In it you can find photos and reasons why the community needs to work together in creating a Columbia Valley Recreation Access Management Plan.

We are members of the Columbia Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Columbia Headwaters Community Forest. We also participate in a public advisory forum to develop and support sustainable forest-management practices in the Invermere Timber Supply Area.

Wildsight's John Bergenske and Juri Peepre, as well as Paul Frasca, RPF, go over a cut block map with Ken Streloff, RFT on a Forestry Field Trip with Canfor to Horsethief drainage.
