Protect BC’s Mountain Caribou Now

This public engagement has ended, so you can no longer send an email, but you can still send a message to federal Environment Minister Catherine McKenna asking her to protect all mountain caribou habitat now—a power she has under the Species at Risk Act.

A momentous partnership agreement between British Columbia, Canada and West Moberly and Saulteau First Nations has been announced. This agreement is a significant step forward in protecting Canada’s iconic mountain caribou. We recognize the leadership of Chief Willson and Chief Cameron in negotiating this partnership, and thank them for their work to protect mountain caribou and the old growth forests they need to survive.

But while this partnership is encouraging, mountain caribou across BC need action—now.

This unique model for caribou recovery must be expanded beyond the Peace region to protect all remaining mountain caribou in British Columbia.

Join us and send a letter to Environment Ministers McKenna and Heyman letting them know that you demand ground action, now. We must protect all of BC’s mountain caribou, before it is too late.
