Position description:

The Branch Manager is the glue that holds Wildsight Golden together. They conduct significant administrative and financial duties for the organization, liaise with and coordinate a variety of team members, and are crucial to our fundraising efforts.This individual is instrumental in building and maintaining relationships in the community, and in ensuring the organization maintains momentum towards achieving our strategic priorities.The Branch Manager is supported by a volunteer board of directors and frequently works with our various contractors, employees, and volunteers.

About Wildsight Golden:

We work to maintain biodiversity and healthy communities by protecting ecological values and facilitating ecological resilience in Golden and surrounding area. We do this by working with community members, indigenous partners, stakeholders, government, academia, and local industry.

Responsibilities include:

Outreach and Events:

●      Develop and maintain outreach materials for dissemination in print, news, and social media

●      Draft press releases where appropriate

●      Organize speaker series, movies, information booths, outdoor events etc.

●      Act as a spokesperson for Wildsight Golden in the public eye and with stakeholders/partners.

Administration and Coordination:

●      Work with the board of directors to develop and adhere to strategic and financial plans, hire and supervise staff and contractors, and ensure effective relationships and communication with Wildsight Regional and other Wildsight branches

●      Coordinate use and maintenance of office space

●      Recruit and coordinate volunteers

●      Perform bookkeeping (invoices, bills, donations etc.) and work with treasurer on budgeting activities

●      Administer specific programs

●      Provide direction and feedback on policies, procedures, and integrity of organization

Fundraising:

●      Identify appropriate grant opportunities; write or coordinate the writing of applications

●      Identify other funding opportunities and coordinate implementation

●      Write reports as required by funders, or coordinate reporting by volunteers or contractors

Requirements:

We are looking for candidates with strong administrative and communications skills, who are committed to healthy communities supported by healthy ecosystems.

●      Commitment to truth and reconciliation, and diversity, equity and inclusion.

●      Sound judgment and the ability to work independently

●      Ability to work some evenings and weekends (for meetings and planned events)

●      Have an environmental ethic and interest in local environmental issues

●      Strong communication skills to facilitate thoughtful and effective interactions with staff, board members, stakeholders, partners, and members of the public

●      Experience organizing and implementing events

●      Proficiency with desktop and cloud-based computer applications

Assets

●      Experience and proficiency in conducting organizational administration

●      Ability to manage or coordinate financial transactions such as paying invoices, managing donations, and tracking expenses

●      Ability to supervise contractors and staff

●      Experience/proficiency drafting press releases, writing news articles, and producing social media content

Terms of Employment:

●      Location is in person in Golden BC. An office space is provided in downtown Golden.

●      Hours are part-time, 20 hrs/wk

●      Flexible work hours

●      Compensation: $26-28/hr
