Are you passionate about nature and getting kids outside? Wildsight is seeking an environmental educator to join our team and deliver our environmental education programs in Revelstoke.

About Wildsight Education 

Wildsight has been delivering environmental education programs in schools throughout the Columbia Basin for 22 years. We are seeking an environmental educator to deliver our Winter Wonder, Classroom with Outdoors, EcoStewards and Beyond Recycling programs. You will join our team of 20 environmental educators delivering programs to kids throughout the Columbia Basin, connecting kids to nature and inspiring a stewardship ethic.

Winter Wonder is a half-day winter ecology program for kindergarten-grade 3 students.

Classroom with Outdoors is a full-day ecosystem awareness field trip for students in grades 6-8.

EcoStewards is a multi-day action orientated program where students help to design and carry out a stewardship action project.

Beyond Recycling is a 24-week journey into sustainability for grade 5 students. Educators visit the classroom once per week and can deliver up to 3 associated field trips.

About the Position

This is a contract position with rates varying from $25 to $35 per hour and ranging from 100-200 hours of work per year. This contract will begin in September. 

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Experience as a teacher or environmental educator
  • A passion for the environment and getting kids outside
  • Selected candidates must undergo a criminal record check
  • Beyond Recycling, is a 24 week program. Successful candidates must be able to commit to the full 24 weeks.
  • Current first aid certification (Minimum Standard First Aid & CPR)
