About The Workshop
This workshop is designed to help children connect to the food that they eat. In a world of convenience and consumerism, it is common to grow up primarily eating from packages and as a result, many children lack basic knowledge of where food originates. Showing children where food comes from can develop their conceptual understanding of food sources, while also encouraging healthy eating behaviours and demonstrating the environmental implications of growing sustainably, and locally. Research shows that when children experience the growing of food, they are much more likely to taste and enjoy it. Join us for this workshop to harvest veggies from the garden, prepare a fresh salad, and eat our delicious creation. There will be lots of opportunity for hands-on exploration and questions.
